Photo requirements
- Photo size must be 51 x 51 mm.
- Use a white background.
- Head height should fill 50-69% of the photo.
- Eye line should be about 56% up from the bottom edge.
- Minimum resolution: 602 x 602 px at 300 DPI.
- Photo must be taken within the last 6 months.
- Background and face should be evenly lit with no shadows.
- Keep a neutral facial expression.
- Both eyes must be open and visible.
- Keep the head facing directly forward.
- Do not tilt or rotate the head.
- Head size from chin to crown: 1 to 1⅜ inches (25–35 mm)
- Eye height from bottom of image: 56–69% of total height
- Do not wear glasses.
- Head coverings may be allowed for religious or medical reasons; check the official conditions and required documentation.
- No uniforms or camouflage clothing
- No headphones or wireless devices
- No face coverings or medical masks
- Photo must be sharp, clear, and not blurry.
- Printed on matte or glossy photo-quality paper
- Do not retouch or digitally alter the photo.
- Camera must be at least 4 feet from the subject
- For online renewal: 600×600 px minimum, 1200×1200 px maximum
